ZINNI
William Zinni age 91 of Parma Hts. passed away peacefully on October 10, 2015; Born in Cleveland on June 4, 1924; Bill Attended West Technical High School prior to enlistment in the United States Army. He served during World War II where he became a Paratrooper in the Airborne 503 “The Rock”. He served in the Pacific Theater from 1943 through 1946 as an anti-tank commander earning a bronze star; In 1966 Bill, with 2 other partners, built and operated Pipers III Restaurant located in Broadview Hts. Later Bill and his brother Phil established “Zinni Custom Built Homes” in the Late 1960’s; Bill enjoyed his family, carpentry and gardening. Survivors include sons, Billy (Nancy) and Tom; Grandchildren Tommy (Joy), Tony, Sarah (Michael); He was preceded in death by Donna (nee Reese) his beloved wife of 66 years, son Tony and Daughter Becky (Tim);
The family will receive friends in celebration of Bill’s life at Humenik Funeral Chapel, 14200 Snow Rd, Brook Park, on Thursday October 15, 2015 from 2-4 & 6-8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Mary Queen of the Apostles Church, 6455 Engle Rd., Brook Park 44142 on Friday at 9:30 AM please meet at the Funeral Home by 8:30 AM. Interment with military honors at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Rittman, Ohio at 10 AM on Mon. Oct. 19, 2015. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to Wounded Warrior Project.
