When I think of him... I smile. Every year he'd come to see, Mom and Dad the whole family. As a kid he'd pick me up, I'd feel so high, Time went so fast, in the blink his eye. Not many kids were lucky enough to know, This gentle giant I call my Uncle Joe. We'd talk baseball and have a toss, Take him golfing, he never lost. Talking to me, he listened as though, I was his own son, I was honored to be treated so. When I started a family with my first born son, I wanted Justin to meet the man who had done... So much for me and I'm sure he knows, Cause I told him so, and do you know... He told me often, and with a nod, You're a good son, good job. Now that he's gone, his legacy should be, The greatest uncle he was to me. When I think of him... I smile. Writing this poem was easy you see, We wrote it together Uncle Joey and me.
