Beloved son of Barbara (nee Haney) and the late Wayne; Devoted father to Victoria, Lilliane and Jonathan (deceased); Dear brother of Lisa (Tim) Britt and Shari Basenback; Dearest uncle of Jordan and Jenna; Loving friend of Aireca and son Joey. The family will receive friends in celebration of Jonathan's life at HUMENIK FUNERAL CHAPEL 14200 Snow Rd., Brook Park on Friday July 20, from 2-4pm & 6-8pm where Funeral Services will be held on Saturday at 10am. Internment at Brooklyn Heights Cemetery.

In memory of a true hero who fought for his country. He was a good man. I am truly sorry that he committed suicide. I personally know his daughter Victoria. We are best friends and she is a great woman.

i was jon's supervisor. i have had maybe 100 employees in my time at Orkin- Jon quickly became 1 of my favorites. not a day goes by that i dont cry just thinking of him and wishing i could have helped. his laugh was infectious, dry sense of humor sneaky funny. he was only employed here going on 2 years- but i have had the task of doing his job in his absence- and wow did his customers love him! my breaking bad--walkind dead--true blood &s.o.a. buddy will be missed for a lifetime. sorry i didnt post earlier- just found this today. RIP Jon, thank you for serving, and i wish you knew how much you enriched our lives.

I knew Sgt Steiert to be a good man. He was kind, quiet, and caring. The shock of this still hasn't worn off, and I doubt it ever will. We weren't close as people, but as soldiers... He was my brother. And I will never forget him. I can never forget him. I truly feel for his Family, and for his friends. My heart cries for him, and my heart cries with you. I hope that he may find the peace he deserves, and that his loved one can find peace in that. Sleep well, brother. G. Co. will find you again some day.

Jon, You are beautiful, smart and strong. One of the best NCO's in Golf Company. It was my honor to serve with you and it was my privilege to be your firend. I miss you and I will see you on the green. Family, Jon was a great man, soldier and friend. He was always ready for a good time when it was to be had. I pray that you all find the peace that God can deliver.

Jon, you were one of the "savings lights" during drill weekends. Your no-nonsense, humorous approach to everything that was thrown at us made it all bearable. You are indeed one of the best NCO's i have had the pleasure of serving with. I pray you find the peace you so deserve. To Jon's family, I extend my sincere apologies for the light that you've lost. Jon will truly be missed but never forgotten.

SSG Steiert, thank you for making the 08' deployment bearable. I always concidered you one of the best NCO's we had as well as a friend. You will be missed but never forgotten. To the Steiert family I pray that the Lord will comfort you and heal your hearts.
