Kunkel, James U., age 76 of Brook Park, passed away on August 13, 2011 after a long courageous battle with cancer. Loving husband of Janet (nee Davies), his beloved wife of 51 years. Devoted father of Jolene (Kenneth) Bailey, Melanie (Miran) Vegel, James, and Jennifer. Dear brother of Dolly (deceased). Cherished grandfather of Brandi, Ashlee, Brianna, Brett, Matthew, Chandler, and Brynson. Veteran US Navy–Korea War and member of American Legion Post 610 Brook Park. Member of the Woodvale Group Victor, Raymond, Bones, Rossi, Phillip, Rudy, and Ronny (deceased).
The family will receive friends in celebration of Jim's life at the Humenik Funeral Chapel, 14200 Snow Road, Brook Park OH, on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Mary Queen of the Apostles Church, 6455 Engle Road, Brook Park OH, on Wednesday at 10:00AM. Private interment at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
