Kearney, James G. age 90 of Brook Park passed away peacefully on May 11 2015. Jim was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 62 years Dorothy (nee Russell). Loving father of Russell (Maribeth) and Diana (Ray). Cherished papa of Amanda (John), Brittany, Adam (Molly), Alyssa, Halle, and Ryan. Dearest brother of Joseph (June) and Agnes Bontempo. Brother in law of Mary Kearney, wife of his oldest brother John P "Pat" (deceased), and Evelyn Ellis of FL. He was also preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Margaret (nee Mugg), brothers Tom and Paul. Sisters Mary Castrigano, Rita Stern, Ruth Oravec and Ann. Jim was born in Canton oh and was raised in Lakewood. He was a 1943 graduate of St Ignatius high school and proudly served his country in the US Navy during WW2. He and Dorothy were married on May 14, 1949 at St. Clement church. They lived in Middleburg Heights for 52 years. He was an active member of Mary Queen of the Apostles Church in the Holy Name Society and also served as an usher. The family would like to thank the staff at North Park Retirement Community for their excellent care and thoughtfulness where he lived for the last 4.5 years. The family will receive friends in celebration of Jim’s life at Humenik Funeral Chapel, 14200 Snow Rd, Brook Park, on Thursday May 14, 2015 from 2-4 and 6-8PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:00AM on Friday at Mary Queen of the Apostles Parish, 6455 Engle Road, Brook Park. Interment at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery at a later date.
