Edward Joseph Seman age 87 of Brook Park passed away peacefully on March 22, 2017 while surrounded by family. Edward is preceded in death by Kay (nee Petkash) his beloved wife of 37 years and his dearest son Edward Jr. Loving father of Thomas (Mary), Linda Wolf and Karen (Lee) Holztrager. Edward was the last of 3 sisters and 8 brothers. Cherished grandfather of David (Stacey), Patty (Rusty), Brian (Roni), Greg (Rachel), Ken, Jeff, Don (Brittany), Connie (David), Crystal, Catrina and Carlene. Great grandfather of 14. Great-great grandfather of 1.

“Big Ed” was a sports enthusiast.  For years he played and managed many championship men’s softball teams in Brook Park.  When softball was over, he bowled in countless leagues, carrying about a 180 average.  Yet, that wasn’t enough.  Big Ed also golfed until the year before he passed.  He loved the sport so much, he taught numerous young men and boys how to golf.  To this day, his grand sons are as hooked as he was. Anyone who knew Big Ed marveled at his sense of humor.  He truly loved life and laughter.  “If I offended you, I meant it” and “I’ve killed people for less”.  April Fools day was a big deal in our home.  Who could forget the salt in the sugar bowl?  In addition, he loved to play games.  It didn’t matter if it was kismet, chicken, UNO, cribbage, pinochle or any other game.  The funny part?  He had the luck and usually won.

Big Ed went out of his way to help others.  He often chauffeured friends and relatives to various appointments and picked up his great grand kids from school.  He enjoyed his football tickets and lottery.  His life touched many others.  While we feel his loss, it’s comforting to know that heaven gained an angel. 

The family will receive friends in celebration of Edward’s life at Humenik Funeral Chapel, 14200 Snow Rd., Brook Park, 44142 on Friday, March 24th from 2-4 & 6-8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at Mary Queen of the Apostles Church, 6455 Engle Rd., Brook Park, on Saturday at 10AM. Interment at Sunset Memorial Park.
