Carol Marie Sobota (nee Bralski), age 77, passed away surrounded by family and friends on March 16, 2023. Carol is preceded in death, by James her beloved husband of 53 years. She is survived by her children Don (Libby) Sobota, Sandra (Deano) Cassidy, and Cindy (Chris) Shick. She was cherished grandmother of Shannon (Jacob) Brenenstuhl, Justin (Selitha) Sobota, Megan (Billy) Medley, Kevin (Katie) Sobota, Trent Shick and Troy Shick. She was the great-grandmother to Jordyn, Tristan, and Billiahanna Medley, Parker, Rowen, and Logan Sobota, Jameson, Jonah, and Joliette Brenenstuhl, and Quinn Sobota. Carol was predeceased by her parents, Edmund and Florence (Sommerfelt) Bralski.
Loving sister to Christine (Jim) Rodic, Edith (Bill) Bradshaw, Faith (Brian) Chmielewski, and Edmund Bralski (deceased).
Carol was a valued employee of Standard Products and Dorn Color. She was the co-owner of Jim’s Leasing Inc. from 1979 to 2016. Carol was a proud member of American Legion Post #610 of Brook Park, the Order of the Eastern Star Westpark Chapter #427 in Cleveland and an active member of the Brook Park Senior Club.
She enjoyed boating, golfing and spending quality time with her large family. She enjoyed traveling, most recently to Ocean Isle Beach, NC where she was joined by her immediate family (26 members). Carol enjoyed winery and casino trips with family and friends. She also enjoyed creating hand-painted cards and gifts for loved ones.
The family will receive friends in celebration of Carol’s life at Humenik Funeral Chapel, 14200 Snow Rd., Brook Park, 44142 on Monday, March 20th from 4pm to 8pm. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at Mary Queen of the Apostle Parish, 6455 Engle Rd., Brook Park on Tuesday, March 21st at 9:30am. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Brook Park Senior Club, C/O Andres Gonzalez, 17400 Holland Rd, Brook Park, OH 44142. EVERYONE PLEASE MEET AT THE CHURCH ON TUESDAY FOR MASS.
