Sockey, Betty J. (nee Kanatsky) of Brook Park, passed away peacefully on December 23, 2013 while surrounded by her family. Betty is preceded in death by Henry her beloved husband of 56 years; Loving mother of Diane (Ken) Brandt, Robert (Cindy) and Gail (Kurt) Rodgers; Cherished grandmother of Steffanie (Paul) Barzellato, Jill (Adam) Eibling and Michael (Renee) Brandt; Great grandmother of Andrew and Bryce. Member of the Brook Park Seniors.

The family will receive friends in celebration of Betty's life at the HUMENIK FUNERAL CHAPEL, 14200 Snow Rd. Brook Park on Thursday December 26, 2013 from 2-4 & 6-8PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Mary Queen of the Apostles Church, 6455 Engle Rd., Brook Park on Friday at 11:30AM. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery.

Dear Sockey Family, I am so sorry for your loss, please accept my sincere condolences at this time. Something that I have found to be a great source of comfort are the thoughts expressed in the Bible at John 5:28,29 where we see that there is going to be a resurrection of those who have fallen asleep in death. Also at Revelation 21:4 we see that God is going to eliminate all of the causes for why we deal with sorrow, pain and even death itself. It is my sincere hope that these thoughts bring your family comfort at this time. Once again I am so sorry for your loss.
