I recently was made aware of Ben's passing. My deepest sympathy to his family as he was such a dear man. Mr. Holdway was our neighbor in Brook Park (back in the 60's and 70's!) for many years. We lived right behind each other! I remember growing up always seeing him at the back fence talking to my dad, Bob Sofchek, and us kids. I always remembered he was smiling! Such a gentle and kind man. May he be at peace in God's loving arms.

Randy, Candy and families, We are so saddened to hear of Ben’s passing! I loved him and your mom so much. Our families have been like family since before any of us kiddos were even thought about. I loved when you guys used to come vacation in Bybee and we got to spend time with all of you. Your folks were always so sweet to me. I remember Mom telling me on one of their trips that Daddy sat down in a timeshare at the head of a table and Jane told Mom that chair was Ben’s space 😆. Daddy got up and moved! Your mom took such good care of Ben. They were special people! Though Mom now fights Dementia, she occasionally asks if I’ve heard from Ben lately and then says she needs to call and talk to him sometime. We love you guys and wish we could be with you on Tuesday but we won’t be able to be there. Again, we are so sorry for your loss. Debbie Cook
