Ted, the eldest of seven children, passed away on July 2 at the age of 75. Known for his steady presence, kind heart, and unwavering work ethic, he was a pillar of strength to his family and community throughout his life.

Ted is preceded in Death by Geraldine “Gerri”, his beloved wife of 10 years.

Loving Brother of Tina (Ralph-deceased) Roling, Toni (Jerry) Currans, Tim-deceased (Sue) Grospitch, Trudi (Mike-deceased) Miner, Terry (Linda-deceased) Grospitch, and Tom Grospitch.

Cherished Grandfather of Travis, Raegan, and Lily.

Beloved Uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Born in Berea, OH, on October 4, 1949, to Donald and Justina Grospitch, Ted grew up in a bustling household where he proudly embraced the role of big brother. He graduated from Berea High School in 1967, where he played and excelled at many sports, demonstrating the same determination and team spirit that would guide him throughout his years.

In 1972, Ted began his career as a firefighter with the Brook Park Fire Department, dedicating himself to the safety and well-being of others. He was promoted to lieutenant, a role in which he led with integrity and courage. On days off from the department, Ted tackled a multitude of home improvement projects. Whether repairing, building, or upgrading, he approached every task with the same dedication and skill that defined his work and personal life. His creativity and craftsmanship left a lasting mark on the homes and hearts of those around him.

After 25 years, Ted retired at 48—but not really. After serving his community, he worked part-time at a local golf course and even had a small workshop where he built clubs for friends.

Ted especially loved watching his grandchildren participate in sports and school activities. He took great pride in cheering them on from the sidelines, celebrating their accomplishments, and sharing in their joy every step of the way.

Along with his passion for golf, fishing, and his motorcycle, Ted enjoyed the countless friendships he made at the Berea VFW Post 6676. He served as the Canteen Manager there for several years. As a member of the Men’s Auxiliary, he volunteered his amazing cooking skills for many fundraising dinners.

The family will receive friends in celebration of Ted’s life at Humenik Funeral Chapel 14200 Snow Road Brook Park, 44142 on Wednesday, July 9 from 4-8 PM, where funeral Services will be celebrated at 7:30 PM. Inurnment at Holy Cross Cemetery.
