I only knew Don for a very short span of time but he gave me a lifetime of memories. I was one of his nurses at the hospital. I am so grateful to have met this amazing man. He was so loved and cared for and he had such love for everyone. He was a man that people would radiate towards in a crowed room. He was the man people would want to be around. I know he was excited to see his wife up in heaven. He talked about her a lot with me. They sounded like an amazing couple. He will be a patient I will remember for the rest of my career and life. He told me he wanted to make it to his birthday and I knew he would. Happy birthday Don, you’ll be truly missed. It was a pleasure to be your nurse. With love, Madison

Uncle Don had a presence you could feel the moment he walked in the room. The party had ARRIVED. He brought such a great energy, laughter, and that spark that made family holidays feel special, especially when he broke out the poker bag or left right center. It's hard to imagine those nights without him at the table. He lived an incredible 93 years, passing on his birthday, which for anyone who knew him, is EXACTLY the kind of dramatic exit only HE could pull off. We'll miss him deeply, but his spirit and great memories will always be there. Rest easy, Uncle Don, I'll see you again soon.

Such an amazing man and father. You will be missed and remembered with laughter and joy. The kindness and grace you showed to all that knew you is a testament to your resolve to do what is right and true. I love you Uncle, and will miss our conversations and the times we spent playing poker with "Lefty". I will see you on the other side my friend.
