Bernadette Rita Gestrich “nee Schenkel”

December 3, 1933 - September 30, 2024

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Bernadette R. Gestrich (nee Schenkel) announce her passing on September 30th, 2024. Born in 1933 in Pittsburgh, PA, Bernie met and married the love of her life, Charles, and moved with him to Brook Park, Ohio, where they raised a large and happy family.

Devoted Mother of Jane Proud, Richard (Jeannine-deceased) Gestrich, Susan Thompson, and Amy (Zack) Meyer.

Dear Sister of Mildred (William-deceased) Stack, and Charlotte (Roy-deceased) McGee.

Cherished Grandmother of Russell, Rachell, Rhiann, Rory, Waverly, Soren, and Beckett.

Great Grandmother of Roman, Ryker, and Reese.

She will be fondly remembered for her deep faith in the Catholic Church; her heartfelt devotion to her husband, who was her companion for 55 years; and her patient and playful nature. She enjoyed camping and traveling the country looking for Dairy Queens, watching mysteries on TV, puzzles, playing with her grandchildren, and visiting with her extended family and friends. She will be mourned and missed by many.

Interred at Western Reserve National Cemetery.
